Information & Rules

 

GENERAL INFORMATION:

  1. Hands are $50 each with no limit on number of hands per person or per boat.
  2. Hours are 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Card stops will be open to validate your official participation form beginning at 10:00 AM and will close at 3:30 PM. All Validated Stop Forms must be turned in to Children's Miracle Network SloPoker Run Officials at the final stop, Barber Marina, by 4:30 PM. Winners will be announced at 5:00 PM.
  3. This event requires the course to be run by boat and finish at Barber Marina in a boat. No Exceptions.
  4. The event is not a Race, speed is not an issue. No Prizes for fastest boat or quickest run time. Winners based only on best 5 card poker hand.
  5. Participants may start anywhere on course and will end at Barber Marina. Participants may choose where they launch and may run the course in any order they wish.
  6. There are fourteen stops on the course but you only need to stop at 5 of the fourteen to have a full hand. At each stop there will be someone on duty to validate your official participation Form.
  7. A prize drawing will be held for those participants who complete at least eight of the 14 stops and another for those who complete ALL 14 stops. We encourage participants to do so if their boat speed permits.
  8. There will be additional raffles and prize drawings from 4:30 to 5:00 PM.
  9. All Federal and Alabama boating laws must be adhered to. Comply with all NO WAKE Zones.
  10. Boat Captain "Driver" may not consume alcohol while operating a boat during this event.
  11. Each validation Stop shall be considered a NO WAKE area, please approach at NO WAKE speed.
  12. In case of unacceptable weather on Saturday, the Children's Miracle Network SloPoker Run will be held on Sunday.
  13. Each participant must sign a waiver release when registering.

REGISTRATION:

  1. Hands are $50 each with no limit on number of hands per person or per boat.
  2. Advance registrations are highly encouraged and can be made on our registration page. You may also register in person or by phone at Paradise Marine Center, 6940A Hwy 59 North, Gulf Shores, AL. Credit cards are accepted.
  3. Paid participants can pickup their ditty bags with official participation forms at Paradise Marine Center beginning October 7, 2016. This is the only pickup location
  4. Run Day registrations will also be accepted from 8 AM until 12 AM the day of the Run at these locations.

  5. An official Children's Miracle Network SloPoker Run ditty bag will be provided for each participating boat. This bag will contain your official participation form which is required to run the course. This bag will also include an official Event T shirt, valuable coupons for use at participating stops and other goodies. T shirts may also be purchased separately as supplies permit and will be available at the final stop, Barber Marina.

GAME RULES

  1. Game: 5 card Stud
  2. At the final stop, Barber Marina, participants will turn in their completed participation form acknowledging their visit of at least five stops, including the final stop. After verification, you will have the option to purchase two additional cards, per hand played, at $10 each. This must be done prior to drawing your five cards.
  3. An additional free card may also be earned by completing the Children's Miracle Network SloPoker Run obstacle course at Barber Marina. The course opens at 2:30 PM and closes at 4:30 PM. At least two crew members from each boat are needed to run this course. It is done entirely on land and has a minimal skill level. It is a lot of fun and the extra card may make the difference in your final hand. The fastest completion time also wins dinner for two at a local restaurant.
  4. Prizes will be paid for the top three hands. First Prize will be guaranteed at $1000, 2nd place pays $750, 3rd place pays $500.
  5. Lowest hand wins $100
  6. Order of Hands: 5 of a Kind, Royal Flush, Straight Flush, 4 of a Kind, Full House, Flush, Straight, 3 of a Kind, 2 Pair, High card.
  7. In the event of a tie, participants will draw 1 card from a fresh deck with high card determining winner. Decisions of Judges will be final.
